Today was a day of embracing the natural beauty and culinary scene of Con Dao. I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to explore more of what this island paradise has to offer. With the group, I was eager to discover new sights and tastes, making the most of our time here.

Our day began with breakfast at The Den. It's a cozy spot that came highly recommended, and it didn't disappoint. The atmosphere was relaxed, perfect for starting the day. I opted for a traditional Vietnamese coffee and a hearty bowl of Pho. The coffee was strong and flavorful, just the kick I needed, and the Pho was rich and comforting. It was a great way to fuel up for the day's adventures. I think Olivia would have loved the coffee here, she is very particular about her morning brew. I'll have to remember to bring her some beans back to Toronto.

After breakfast, we set off to Mũi Cá Mập, or Shark Cape. The drive there was scenic, with lush greenery on either side of the road and glimpses of the ocean. As we approached Mũi Cá Mập, the landscape became more dramatic, with rugged cliffs and rocky shores. The view from the cape was absolutely stunning. The clear blue waters stretched out before us, meeting the horizon in a seamless blend of sky and sea. The rock formations were incredible, shaped by the elements over centuries, creating a truly unique vista. I spent a good hour just taking in the scenery and snapping photos. It was one of those moments where you feel completely connected to nature, a sense of peace washing over you. It's amazing to think this island was once a prison, now it's a place of such serene beauty.

Next on our itinerary was exploring Con Son Island itself. We rented motorbikes and spent the afternoon cruising along the coastal roads. The freedom of the open road, the wind in my hair, and the stunning scenery all around made for an exhilarating experience. We stopped at several viewpoints along the way, each offering a different perspective of the island's beauty. We also visited some of the local markets, where we sampled fresh fruits and chatted with the vendors. It was a great way to immerse ourselves in the local culture and get a feel for the island's pace of life. I even managed to practice a bit of my Vietnamese, much to the amusement of the locals.

For lunch, we headed to Nhà Hàng Phố Biển, a seafood restaurant known for its fresh catches and authentic Vietnamese cuisine. The restaurant had a lively atmosphere, with locals and tourists alike enjoying the delicious food. We ordered a variety of dishes, including grilled squid, stir-fried noodles with seafood, and fresh spring rolls. Everything was incredibly flavorful, the seafood cooked to perfection and bursting with freshness. It was a true culinary delight, a testament to the island's rich seafood resources. I remember growing up in Spanish Town, BVI, and having access to the freshest seafood, this meal brought back so many fond memories.

As the sun began to set, we made our way to Con Son Seafood restaurant for dinner. This place was a real gem, recommended by several locals we had met during the day. The restaurant had a cozy, intimate ambiance, perfect for a relaxing evening meal. We started with oyster porridge, a local specialty, which was creamy and delicious. For our main courses, we opted for grilled fish and shrimp with garlic butter. The seafood was incredibly fresh, the flavors enhanced by the simple yet delicious preparations. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable, making it a great value for money. The service was also excellent, the staff friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home.

To cap off the evening, we decided to check out Bar 200 - By The Beach. The bar had a fantastic beach vibe, with great music and a relaxed atmosphere. We ordered some cocktails and sat at a table near the water, enjoying the cool sea breeze and the sound of the waves. The staff were friendly and the drinks were well-made, making for a perfect end to a perfect day. I can see why this place is popular with both locals and tourists. It's the kind of place where you can unwind and let your worries drift away. It is also conveniently located near some hotels, which is very convenient.

As I reflect on today's adventures, I'm filled with gratitude for the opportunity to experience the beauty and culture of Con Dao. From the stunning views at Mũi Cá Mập to the delicious seafood at the local restaurants, every moment was a delight. I'm also grateful for the company of my friends, who made the experience all the more enjoyable. I'm already looking forward to tomorrow's itinerary, which includes a visit to Bãi Suối Nóng and the Vietnam Heritage Tree. I can't wait to see what new adventures await us.

Tomorrow we intend to visit Bãi Suối Nóng, also known as Hot Springs Beach, and the Vietnam Heritage Tree. Apparently, the Hot Springs Beach is a unique spot where you can relax in naturally heated waters, and the Vietnam Heritage Tree is a centuries-old tree with significant cultural and historical value. I'm particularly excited about the Vietnam Heritage Tree, as I'm always fascinated by historical landmarks. We'll also be trying out some new restaurants, including Sunset Lounge for breakfast, Nhà hàng Nam Dinh for lunch, and TYNA FOOD & COFFEE for dinner. And of course, we'll be doing a bit of shopping at Mocoda Shop. It sounds like another exciting day ahead!

Con Dao has a way of captivating you with its untouched beauty and historical significance. It's a place where you can relax and unwind, while also exploring the rich culture and history of Vietnam. I feel incredibly fortunate to be here, and I'm eager to continue my journey of discovery on this enchanting island.
