Today marked the beginning of our family's adventure in San Cristobal de las Casas, and I couldn't wait to dive into the heart of Chiapas. Sofia, surprisingly, enjoyed the tamales, while Hans appreciated the complexity of the chile relleno. The restaurant's decor was equally impressive, with beautiful textiles and a cozy ambiance. I particularly enjoyed the crema de chipilin, a traditional soup that was both comforting and flavorful.

The weather in August is pleasantly warm, with average temperatures ranging from 15°C to 26°C. There is a chance of rain, so it’s good to be prepared with a raincoat. Today, the weather was kind to us, with plenty of sunshine and a gentle breeze. The moderate sunshine made our explorations even more enjoyable.

As I reflect on our first day, I am filled with a sense of excitement for what lies ahead. San Cristobal de las Casas has already captured my heart with its vibrant culture, rich history, and warm hospitality. Tomorrow, we plan to visit Casa Na Bolom and Andador Turistico Miguel Hidalgo [i]. I am particularly interested in learning more about the history and traditions of the local indigenous communities. I am also looking forward to trying some local cocktails at Posheria, a bar recommended by several locals [i]. I am excited to see what new adventures and discoveries await us.
