I learned so much about how jade was used in rituals, trade, and personal adornment. It was amazing to see how different societies valued this precious stone and the craftsmanship that went into creating these exquisite pieces.

The mole was rich and complex, with hints of cacao, almond, and chile. Sofia opted for the tamales chiapanecos, which she declared were the best she’d ever tasted. It was a truly satisfying meal that gave us a taste of the local culinary traditions.

The market was bustling with activity, a testament to the city's thriving artisan community.

As evening approached, we decided to experience some of San Cristobal’s nightlife. We headed to La Popu Mezcalería, a bar known for its extensive selection of mezcal. The atmosphere was lively and fun, with live music adding to the festive vibe. I sampled a mango mezcal margarita, while Hans enjoyed a traditional mezcal neat. Sofia, of course, stuck to a refreshing agua fresca. It was a great way to unwind after a day of exploring and immerse ourselves in the local culture.
