This was an excellent birthday present. Two of us made a bottle of gin. We were lucky and only one other person doing the experience. Andy was very helpful about which botanicals work or would be overpowering. Started with a complimentary drink at the bar, whilst making and after. Fascinating experience and delicious gin at the end!

Amazing experience and customer service. Offered us a coffee on arrival. Good tuition for first time gin makers. They also came round with a couple of gins to drink during the brewing. Close to Torquay and easily commutable. Very memorable. You even get to name your own gin to take home.

Fantastic introduction to gin making - very interesting and fun..... Paul was very informative and guided us throughout the process along with providing us with several gin&tonics whilst producing our own craft gin - would highly recommend!🙂

What a fantastic experience. This was bought for me as a birthday treat and my sister and I and our daughters had a great time. It is such a lovely environment and the gin-making was us actually making a gin containing our favourite ingredients (sorry botanicals!). We went on 4th Feb so we haven’t tasted our gins just yet. Looking forward to having our own tasting of all 5 gins!!! If you want something special, this is it. Oh and there also is a fantastic wine shop.

Following a wine tasting event at Labrow's Bistro we were fortunate enough to win the quiz for a gin experience event. Absolutely superb. Interesting, entertaining and great setting. Beyond that, the adjacent Wine Box has an outstanding range of wines. Everything good value. Delightful crew. 🇬🇧🇳🇿

You know the old joke (even Michael McIntyre used it several years ago) about any Tripadvisor entry getting lots of 5-star reviews and the dreaded single 1-star review? Well, if you look, the Gin Nest gets solely 5-star reviews. And here's another one. There's a reason for this - there is NO better way to spend an afternoon. Really, everything that needs to be said has already been said here - just read the other reviews, then book a session. It's educational, fun, creative and a top notch booze session, all rolled into one. And you walk away with your own creation, in your own image, style and good or bad taste, complete with a bottle of tonic. Leanne, on seeing my TorBear gin "weigh in" at 54% ABV noted she'd never seen a stronger one come off the stills, so the challenge is set! To put some perspective around this, everyone uses the same base spirit, amounts and base additives, other than the personal botanicals themselves, so it's all in the touch! For the record (or mp3) Mary's measured up at 46% - not too shabby! I put it down to going for a spicy direction.... And do not walk away without visiting Paul in the actual wine and spirits shop. Forget references in other reviews along the lines of "nice little wine shop" or "well stocked"; it's actually a fabulous emporium of wines and spirits that you will NOT see in the supermarkets and at prices for any wallet Their "in house" locally made gins (that you taste during the session are also great value in their own right, so we took advantage - seemed only polite! Now impatiently waiting a few days before trying our matured, hand-made 50cl bottles of nectar, though tasting during making suggests only weekend happiness awaits...

It’s been just over a week since we made our gin and I’ve just tried it - must say it tastes delicious. We had a good time at the Gin Nest. Leanne was a great host and put us at our ease straight away, maybe something to do with the Gins and Tonics that we were given throughout our 2 hour visit. The school is well set out with lots of small stills around the counter. After a short explanation we were let loose on choosing the botanicals to make our gin. Leanne was on hand to answer on questions as to whether our choices would go Ok together. Then we had to weigh our choices out and add to the alcohol. We were like children we it started to drip out of the tube from the still. We were encouraged to try a small sip a couple of times to see what it was like. Two hours later we had our nicely labelled bottles and tottered back to the railway station. Lovely way to spend an afternoon.
