Positano

Your first stop is Positano, a small fishing town that has long been the holiday destination of choice for VIPs, from the Romantic poets of the 19th century to today’s Hollywood stars. After an orientation walk with your guide you’ll have two hours of free time in which you can browse the boutiques filled with world-famous beachwear, have leather sandals made to fit your feet and/or enjoy a relaxing lunch of local delicacies at a seaside cafe. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit too, there’s nothing nicer on a summer’s day than a dip in the sea.

Amalfi Coast

At Amalfi you’ll head up one of those cliffs to a lovely lemon orchard where you’ll enjoy a tasting of one of the region’s most beloved products, the sweet, tangy liqueur called limoncello. The farm is perched above the town and offers stunning views out to sea. After the tasting you’ll have an hour to explore the town and, if you enjoyed your tasting, buy some limoncello.

Amalfi

You’ll board a boat for a 30-minute ride down the coast to Amalfi town. Along the way you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the dramatic coastline as it rises out of the sea in soaring cliffs.

This was an AMAZING tour!!! Federico was one of the best tour guides I have ever had… combined with the fact that we had an unbelievably cohesive group!! The tour literally ended with everyone feeling like family or like we had been friends for years!! (And the group can really Make a tour!!) This was a Great tour!!

What an amazing tour! We had a very limited time in Rome and wanted to book a trip to the Amalfi coast for a day. Our tour guide Federico did an amazing job at guiding us through the train and boats. We even got to spend more time in Positano because he was able to get an earlier boat to there, also our group was very responsible and everyone was on time, which allowed us to leave earlier since we were not waiting on anyone. The Limoncello farm was beautiful and the cake was delicious. The coast is beyond beautiful and so glad we were able to experience it, even for a few hours.

The only reason for the three stars was there was a lot of time on a bus and train. I realize they cancelled the boat because of weather conditions but perhaps an offer to cancel should have been made for those who wanted the boating experience. The majority of the tour was travelling.

I am writing this after taking this tour because it was so bad. This is by far the most expensive tour we did in one month of vacationing in the Mediterranean and by far the worst experience we had. As an international Vice President of Marketing I always direct my teams to balance the promises made with the experience delivered. This experience came nowhere close to the promises. We were promised a train to Naples, two ferry rides to Amalfi and Positano, and a limoncello tasting at a farm. What we got was a train ride, a bus ride to Amalfi, and a throw-in visit to Ravello because the road was closed (1 of 4 advertised activities) I know the change from ferry to buses was because of the weather, but the meeting host and the guide did nothing to set expectations when we met in Rome before leaving on this 13 hour tour. No one explained that the bus ride would be 2 hours each way on a narrow steep road that was NOT the scenic coast road. No one told us the roads or the lemon farm might be closed, and that would further diminish the agenda. It would have been a far better brand experience to tell us at the meeting point that the weather would definitely impact the agenda and give people the option to cancel then with a full refund.

Hit the rails and boat hopped to Amalfi Coast and Positano, weather perfect and these towns are beautiful, plenty of walking and shopping. Positano lunch as close to the beach was amazing, food and view wow!

Wow! Visiting the Amalfi Coast for a day after spending time in Rome was like another world! Our guide Roberta was knowledgeable and engaging. The hike to the top of the limoncello farm was difficult (200 large steps up), but worth it in the end, just take your time. The views at the top were incredible. We had a perfect amount of free time for lunch and exploring/shopping. The train/ferry were seamless thanks to Roberta. Would absolutely recommend this day trip to anyone staying in Rome looking for a unique experience and visit to the gorgeous Amalfi Coast!

What a fantastic day!!! We had the pleasure of meeting Mauro, our wonderful tour guide. Right from the beginning it was great energy between him and our group. Mauro made sure we were comfortable and took care of everything. There is no way you can get this value doing it alone. No way. And hassle free. Tickets for the speed train and two ferries were included plus a visit to a Limoncello farm. The view was whimsical almost unreal. Sitting under the lemon vines transports you to another time. Mauro's knowledge and passion was entertainingly magnetic. The restaurants and local tips he recommended were spot on. We are so happy that we booked this tour and gratefuI to have met Mauro!
