Your Itinerary

Positano

Your first stop is Positano, a small fishing town that has long been the holiday destination of choice for VIPs, from the Romantic poets of the 19th century to today’s Hollywood stars. After an orientation walk with your guide you’ll have two hours of free time in which you can browse the boutiques filled with world-famous beachwear, have leather sandals made to fit your feet and/or enjoy a relaxing lunch of local delicacies at a seaside cafe. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit too, there’s nothing nicer on a summer’s day than a dip in the sea.

Amalfi Coast

At Amalfi you’ll head up one of those cliffs to a lovely lemon orchard where you’ll enjoy a tasting of one of the region’s most beloved products, the sweet, tangy liqueur called limoncello. The farm is perched above the town and offers stunning views out to sea. After the tasting you’ll have an hour to explore the town and, if you enjoyed your tasting, buy some limoncello.

Amalfi

You’ll board a boat for a 30-minute ride down the coast to Amalfi town. Along the way you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the dramatic coastline as it rises out of the sea in soaring cliffs.

Our day trip to the Amalfi Coast, booked through Walking Tours, turned out to be a major letdown, particularly given the circumstances that should have prompted a cancellation. Rain caused the primary attraction of the tour, the boat hopping, to be canceled, yet the tour proceeded with an alternative plan that was poorly executed and highly unsatisfactory. The journey began with a bus ride that felt like a roller coaster through winding roads. The bus itself seemed to be struggling mechanically, adding to the discomfort of the sharp turns along the coast. Throughout this ordeal, our tour guide, Francesca, offered minimal interaction or engagement. She seemed more focused on conversing with our driver, Renzo, than addressing us, her paying customers. This lack of communication was felt deeply, especially since we were forced to switch to a bus tour due to the weather. The most disheartening part of the trip was the so-called limoncello tasting. The experience was laughable and far from what was advertised. Not only was the walk to the lemon groves treacherous—over 100 slippery stairs without adequate handrails—but the reward was underwhelming: a mere slice of lemon in water and a minuscule sample of limoncello. This segment of the tour not only fell short of expectations but felt unsafe and poorly thought out. This tour was the most expensive one during our stay in Italy and unfortunately, the least enjoyable. It was a total waste of both time and money. The only positive aspect was the camaraderie within our tour group, who shared our disappointment and frustration. We all agreed to file complaints regarding the poor handling and execution of this tour. To future travelers, I strongly advise checking the weather conditions and insisting on clear cancellation policies before booking. Ensure that your time and money are respected. This tour, sadly, was an example of a poor experience that could have been avoided with better decision-making from the tour company.

This is a must see, and you have to do it with JP. He was phenomenal on this tour. He took great care of everyone and was sure that everyone was armed with the info to get the most out of the trip. My wife still talk about this trip as the scenery is absolutely beautiful. When you go to the lemon orchard be sure to bring your step climbing shoes. Once on top the view is simply amazing. Positano is an absolute paradise, and JP will give you a map and some hints on where to get the best foods and views. I would not suggest taking this trip with anyone except JP.

This was one of the most amazing tours in all Of Italy! Federico made this experience one we will never forget. He has a true love of sharing the culture and made this experience perfect! We loved this so much and our guide JP was top notch. Every aspect of this tour was a gift to the senses. The beauty of the Amalfi coast cannot be overstated and it was such an easy trip from Rome down to Salerno. The boats were not fancy, but completely adequate and comfortable. So many great picture moments. We had an excellent lunch at the Rada restaurant in Positano (recommended by our guide JP), with new friends we met on the tour.

We enjoyed it greatly. Federico and fabio were very good and made it an enjoyable experience. I loved amalfi. Positano was also nice although the boat dock crowd was crazy. Federico kept us on track and got us through it though.

John Paul was a great guide. He gave history, recommendations, info about the Amalfi coast and lenon farm we visited and he took care of all details. He led guided tour time and also allowed flexible free time, was clear with meeting details and created a fabulous day for my daughter and I! Had a great time.

This was a great way to see Positano and Amalfi in a single day. We had just enough time at each and the Limoncello tasting was awesome. Our trip was changed to a van (instead of boats) due to the windy weather and I honestly think that it was a better experience. Our guide JP had great recommendations and was very thoughtful in his approach. Great time!

This was an AMAZING tour!!! Federico was one of the best tour guides I have ever had… combined with the fact that we had an unbelievably cohesive group!! The tour literally ended with everyone feeling like family or like we had been friends for years!! (And the group can really Make a tour!!) This was a Great tour!!
