We are a group of three friends, travelling to Matera, from Canada. We enjoyed this tour a great deal. Lots of interesting information shared about this curious and amazing site. We'd love to return again someday to spend more time in the city and explore the many narrowed streets and hiking trails to the caves.

Antonio was a fabulous guide. He kept up a running commentary for the whole two hours that we were on the tour. He had an in-depth knowledge of the Sassi, and his clear and thorough explanations helped us to understand the history and the functioning of this unique and fascinating area.

Our guide was Antonio and he provided a wealth of information. He gave a lot of historical background and perspective. The tour was not terribly difficult as far as the walking goes but the walkways are uneven. We did this tour on our first day in Matera and we’re happy to get such a great overview. I certainly recommend this tour for first time visitors.

We learned so much about the 9000-year history of this beautiful place thanks to Antonio, who was the perfect guide for navigating the labyrinth that is Matera.
