Pensacola Children's Museum: A World of Discovery
Explore Pensacola's history through play at the Children's Museum! Hands-on exhibits for kids 10 & under in a historic downtown setting.
Step into a world of imagination and discovery at the Pensacola Children's Museum, located in the heart of historic downtown Pensacola. This interactive museum is designed to spark curiosity and foster a love of learning in children aged 10 and under. The museum's exhibits bring Pensacola's vibrant history to life through hands-on experiences. The first floor's Discovery Gallery recreates colonial life in Pensacola, allowing children to step back in time and explore the city's origins. Here, young visitors can play in pint-sized historic houses, guard a fort, trade goods at the Panton Trading Post, or sail a Spanish ship. A special Kiddie Corral area is reserved for the museum's youngest visitors, under age 3. The second floor delves further into Pensacola's past, with exhibits exploring the city's military, maritime, industrial, multicultural, and Native American history. Children can immerse themselves in a recreated one-room schoolhouse, explore a Publix SuperMarket exhibit, or discover the wonders of the Gulf Coast in the Land and Sea exhibit. In August 2025, the museum will begin renovations to transform the first floor Discovery Gallery into 'Our Town'. This new gallery will feature engaging exhibits such as the Garden Street Toddler Spot, the Milk Bottle Diner, the L & N Train Station and Tiny Tot Train, Theo's Construction House, the My Story Mural, and the Silas Stearns Fishing Smack. The Pensacola Children's Museum is part of the Historic Pensacola complex, managed by the University of West Florida Historic Trust. A unified ticket provides admission to the Children's Museum, the Pensacola Museum of Art, the Pensacola Museum of History, and Historic Pensacola Village for seven days. Please note that a child must be part of your group to enter the museum, and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
