Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the main entrance of Oak Mountain State Park, head northeast on Alabama Highway 119. Continue for about 1.5 miles until you reach the intersection with US-31. Turn left onto US-31 South. After approximately 2 miles, take the exit toward I-459 South. Merge onto I-459 South and continue for about 5 miles. Take exit 10 for US-280 East toward Birmingham. Merge onto US-280 East and travel for about 3 miles. Take the exit for AL-150, and then turn left onto AL-150. After 1 mile, you will see the Cahaba Riverchase Greenway Trailhead on your left. There is no parking fee for this area.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you will need to take a bus from Birmingham to Hoover. First, take the MAX bus service from downtown Birmingham to the Hoover area. The closest stop to the Cahaba Riverchase Greenway Trailhead is the 'Hoover Public Library' stop. From there, you can either walk about 1.5 miles to the trailhead or use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft for a quicker trip. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as service may vary.

• Walking/Biking from nearby locations

  If you are already in the vicinity of the Cahaba Riverchase Greenway, you can access the trailhead on foot or by bike. From the Hoover Public Library, head north on Municipal Drive. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with AL-150. Cross AL-150 cautiously, then take the trail that leads directly to the Cahaba Riverchase Greenway Trailhead. This route is approximately 1.5 miles and is suitable for pedestrians and cyclists.
