Discover more about Roberts Home 'Night In The Museum'

The Roberts Home 'Night In The Museum' offers a distinctive lodging experience in Piedmont, Alabama. Housed in a meticulously renovated 1880s home, this museum and hotel, listed as an Alabama Historical Commission Landmark, provides guests with a chance to spend the night in a piece of local history. Originally built by Major Jacob Forney Dailey for his daughter, Mary Catherine Dailey, the home later became known as the Dailey-McCollister Roberts Home. Over the years, it passed through several owners before J.E. Roberts purchased it in 1905, remaining in the Roberts family until 1999. The last two Roberts family residents, Miss Leola and Miss Ruby, were both school teachers in Piedmont for over 40 years. Miss Ruby bequeathed the home to the First Baptist Church of Piedmont, with the desire that it not be torn down or moved for 25 years. In 2015, the church voted to demolish the home to expand their parking lot, but the Piedmont Historical Society intervened, moving it to its current location. The Roberts Home showcases the period's exquisite woodwork, and the exterior remains virtually unchanged. Guests can explore exhibits, relax on the covered porch, and enjoy modern amenities. The hotel has handicap-accessible features. It's located in downtown Piedmont, near local landmarks, shops, and restaurants. Nearby attractions include the Chief Ladiga Trail, Duggar Mountain, and Terrapin Creek.
