From Cerro Tronador, take Route 40 southbound. Follow the signs towards Puerto Varas. Continue on Route 40 for approximately 45 kilometers until you reach the junction for Ruta 225. Turn left onto Ruta 225 and continue for about 25 kilometers until you arrive in the town of Puerto Varas. From there, you will need to head west towards the direction of the lake and follow the signs to the base of Tronador.

To reach Tronador via public transport, start in Cerro Tronador and take a bus to Puerto Varas. The bus leaves from the main terminal and typically runs every hour. The journey takes about 1 hour and costs around 1500-2000 ARS. Once in Puerto Varas, you can either take a taxi or a local shuttle service towards the base of Tronador, which may cost an additional 2000-3000 ARS depending on your exact destination.
