Discover more about PASEO DÁVILA - LA PERLA

Paseo Dávila, located in the coastal city of Mar del Plata, is a picturesque promenade that offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding landscape. Situated in the La Perla neighborhood, this vibrant walkway stretches along Av. Peralta Ramos, connecting the area from Rotonda Alberdi to Alfonsina beach. The promenade is named after Adolfo Dávila, who, along with other members of the Buenos Aires upper class who vacationed in Mar del Plata, founded the Mar del Plata Club in 1907. Dávila was also a lawyer, journalist, and politician born in La Rioja province in 1848. In 2005, the area was renovated and enhanced for the Fourth Summit of the Americas, adding a pedestrian bridge and the Plaza de las Américas, adorned with flags. Before this renovation, the famed Punta Iglesia swimming pools were located here, a focal point of Mar del Plata summers. Today, Paseo Dávila is a beautifully landscaped area with benches, wooden decks, and panoramic views of the city and sea, perfect for strolling, relaxing, and enjoying the coastal scenery. Along the Paseo Dávila, visitors can find monuments to Florentino Ameghino, a pioneer of paleontological studies; the Emigration Monument, symbolizing hope for a better future; and Alfonsina Storni, an Argentine poet. The promenade also provides easy access to the beaches of La Perla, known for their golden sands and vibrant atmosphere. The Paseo de las Américas features colorful windmills, adding to the visual appeal of this traditional coastal walk. Underground parking is under construction in Plaza España, aiming to improve accessibility and preserve the area's aesthetics.
