From the center of Tempe, head to the nearest bus stop on Mill Ave. Catch the Valley Metro Bus Route 40 heading north. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes and get off at the intersection of Cave Creek Rd & Carefree Hwy. From there, transfer to Route 56 heading east. After about 10 minutes, get off at the stop closest to N Lava Ln. Walk north for about 15 minutes on N Lava Ln until you reach the entrance of Cave Creek Regional Park.

Begin your journey at Tempe Beach Park. Rent a bicycle and head north along the Arizona Canal Trail. Follow the trail until you reach the intersection with Cave Creek Rd. From there, you can walk to the entrance of Cave Creek Regional Park, which will be a short distance ahead.
