    From anywhere in Tucson, head towards W Starr Pass Blvd. If you're coming from the western side of the city, drive east on W Starr Pass Blvd until it intersects with S Clearwell Rd. Turn right onto S Clearwell Rd and continue for about 0.5 miles. The Richard E. Genser Starr Pass Trailhead will be on your left at 1300 South Clearwell Rd. Parking is free, but limited.

    Take the Sun Tran bus route that services the Tucson Mountain Park area. The closest stop is on S 6th Ave near W Starr Pass Blvd. From there, walk approximately 1.5 miles west along W Starr Pass Blvd, then turn right onto S Clearwell Rd. Continue for another 0.5 miles to reach the Richard E. Genser Starr Pass Trailhead. A single bus fare is $1.75.

The trailhead itself has limited facilities, with a parking lot that accommodates 44 vehicles and 5 horse rigs, and a portable restroom nearby. It's recommended to bring plenty of water, especially during warmer months, and to wear sturdy hiking shoes. The parking lot is open from sunrise to sunset.
