Car

From Oranjestad, head north on L.G. Smith Boulevard. Continue past the hotel area, then turn left onto Caya Juan Chabaya Lampe. Follow the signs to Alto Vista Chapel. The winery is a short distance from the chapel. Parking is available on-site.
Public Transport

From the central bus station in Oranjestad, take the Arubus. Buses run regularly along the hotel strip. Ask the driver for the closest stop to Alto Vista Chapel. From the bus stop, it's approximately a 15-20 minute walk to the winery. A single bus fare is US$2.50.
Taxi

Taxis are readily available in Oranjestad and at most hotels. A taxi from Oranjestad to Alto Vista Winery will cost approximately US$15-20, depending on traffic. Confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.

Alto Vista Winery & Distillery is a hidden gem nestled in the Alto Vista region of Aruba, offering a unique and unexpected experience for tourists. As Aruba's first and only winery and distillery, it stands as a testament to innovation and resilience in the face of the island's arid climate. The winery cultivates its own grapes using advanced viticultural techniques, producing distinctive wines that capture the unique local terroir. Visitors can embark on guided tours that provide insights into the winemaking process, from vineyard to bottle. The tour includes a walk through the vines and around the farm, a visit to the distillery where Red Star Rum is produced, and concludes with a tasting of five wines paired with a charcuterie board. Red Star Rum is named after the red star on the Aruban flag. If you're not up for a tour, you can still stop by to enjoy locally made wine on their outside deck. The winery is a family-owned and managed business, adding a personal touch to every aspect of the experience. Visitors appreciate the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the opportunity to learn about the challenges and triumphs of winemaking in Aruba's desert climate. The blend of innovation and resilience in the winemaking process offers visitors a truly unique experience, showcasing Aruba's remarkable flavors against the odds. Alto Vista Winery has been making wine since 2019 and only recently opened its doors for tours. The winery cultivates French Colombard, Chenin Blanc, Syrah, and Tempranillo grapes.
