From Adelaide CBD, the most convenient way to reach Glenelg is via the Glenelg Tram. Trams depart regularly from the city center and take approximately 45 minutes to reach Moseley Square, right on Glenelg Beach. The tram is wheelchair accessible. A single trip costs around $5. Alternatively, several bus routes connect Adelaide CBD to Glenelg, including the 265, 190, and 167. A bus trip takes approximately 35-45 minutes and also costs around $5.
Walking
From the Glenelg tram stop or bus stops along Anzac Highway or Brighton Road, Glenelg Beach is easily accessible on foot. Moseley Square and the jetty are a short walk from the tram stop. The foreshore and beach are mostly flat, making for an easy walk. Accessible beach mats are available near the Moseley Beach Club for those with mobility challenges.
Taxi/Ride Share
Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber are readily available in Adelaide and offer a direct route to Glenelg. A taxi ride from Adelaide Airport to Glenelg takes approximately 10 minutes and costs around $20. From the city center, a taxi to Glenelg takes about 20 minutes and costs approximately $40.
Driving
If driving from Adelaide city center, take West Terrace and then Anzac Highway directly to Glenelg. From Adelaide Airport, exit left onto Sir Donald Bradman Drive, then left onto Tapley's Hill Road, and follow the signs to Anzac Highway and Glenelg. Parking is available at various locations, including the Marina Pier Car Park (hourly rates from $8 to $30) , The Beach House Car Park (hourly rates from $7 to $30) , and 15 Colley Terrace Car Park ($5 per hour). Street parking is also available, but be sure to check parking signs for restrictions.
