Getting There

• Bus

  From the Adelaide city center, head to the nearest bus stop and catch the 171, 172, or 173 bus towards Glenelg. The buses run frequently, approximately every 10-15 minutes. Stay on the bus until you reach the Glenelg stop on Jetty Road, which is the main thoroughfare in Glenelg. From the bus stop, it’s a short 5-minute walk to Glenelg Beach. Just head south on Jetty Road, and when you reach the end of the road, you will find yourself at the beach.

• Tram

  If you prefer taking the tram, head to the Adelaide Railway Station or any tram stop in the city center. Take the tram heading towards Glenelg, which is marked with a sign indicating 'Glenelg'. The tram ride takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the last stop, which is the Glenelg tram terminus. From there, walk directly toward the beach, which is just a couple of minutes away to the south.

• Walking

  If you are staying in the city center and feel like a scenic walk, you can walk to Glenelg Beach. The distance is about 10 kilometers, which will take roughly 1.5 to 2 hours on foot. Head west on North Terrace until you reach King William Road, then turn left. Continue walking until you reach Glenelg, following the path along the river and through parks. This route offers a pleasant experience with views of the river and greenery.

• Bicycle

  For those who enjoy cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing services available in the city. Head towards the River Torrens Linear Park Trail and follow it towards Glenelg. The ride is approximately 10 kilometers and takes about 30-40 minutes, offering a beautiful route along the river and through parks. Once you reach Glenelg, you can park your bike at the designated bike racks near the beach.
