Public Transport (Bus)
Start at the Hobart City Bus Station located at Elizabeth Street, Hobart. Take the Metro Tasmania bus route 446 towards Mt Wellington. Ensure you check the current timetable for the bus as times may vary. Get off at the 'Fern Tree' stop. From this stop, walk along Bronte Park Road towards the Fern Tree Tavern (about a 10-minute walk). From the Tavern, follow the signs leading to the Mt Wellington summit. The walking trail is well-marked and will eventually lead you to the North East Viewing Platform with a series of uphill paths offering stunning views.

Walking (From City Center)
If you prefer to walk from the Hobart city center, head to the Salamanca Place and take Davey Street towards the southern suburbs. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Huon Road. Follow Huon Road for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the Fern Tree area. The walk is quite lengthy (around 1.5 to 2 hours) and will take you through beautiful suburban areas. Once in Fern Tree, continue towards the Fern Tree Tavern and follow the path leading up to Mount Wellington, where you will find the North East Viewing Platform.

For those who enjoy cycling, rent a bike from a local shop in Hobart. Start at the Hobart Waterfront and follow the bike path along the waterfront towards the Southern Outlet. This route will take you towards Mt Wellington. You will need to navigate to Huon Road and then to Fern Tree, where you can park your bike and walk the remaining distance to the North East Viewing Platform. Be prepared for a challenging uphill climb as you approach the summit, but the views are well worth the effort.
