Driving
If traveling by car from Port Augusta, take Commercial Road heading west. Follow Commercial Road until it turns into Red Cliffs Loop. Continue on Red Cliffs Loop for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach Matthew Flinders Red Cliff Lookout. Free parking is available at the lookout.
Public Transport
To reach the lookout via public transport, take a bus to Port Augusta. From the Port Augusta bus terminal, you can walk or take a taxi to the lookout. The 572 bus route (Port Augusta West service) has multiple stops along Red Cliff Loop. A single adult bus fare is approximately $2.60. A taxi from the Port Augusta bus terminal to the lookout is approximately $20 - $30.
Walking
If you are already in Port Augusta and prefer to walk, you can walk from the city center to the lookout. The distance is approximately 10 kilometers, which could take around 2 hours. Start on Commercial Road, turn onto Red Cliffs Loop, and follow the road until you reach the lookout. Ensure you have water and wear comfortable shoes for the walk.
