If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Launceston city center. Head northwest on St John Street towards the West Tamar Highway (A7). Merge onto the A7 and continue for about 3 km. Take the exit towards Elphin Road/Basin Road. Turn right onto Basin Road, and follow the signs for Cataract Gorge Reserve. The reserve entrance is located at 74-90 Basin Rd, West Launceston TAS 7250. There is ample parking available at the reserve, which is free of charge.

For those using public transport, take the Metro Tasmania bus service from Launceston city center. You can catch the bus number 7 or 8 towards West Launceston. The bus departs from the Launceston Transit Centre. Make sure to check the current timetable as it may vary. Upon reaching the stop at Basin Road, it is a short 10-minute walk to the reserve entrance. Walk along Basin Road until you see the signs for Cataract Gorge Reserve.
