    If you are traveling by car, begin your journey from Hobart, the capital of Tasmania. Take the Brooker Highway (A1) north out of Hobart. After about 30 minutes, merge onto the Midland Highway (A1) towards Launceston. Follow the Midland Highway for approximately 40 km until you reach the turnoff for the B62 towards Mount Field National Park. Continue on B62 for about 30 km, passing through the small town of Westerway. Once you reach Mount Field National Park, look for signs directing you to Russell Falls. The falls are located a short drive and a short walk from the park entrance.

  • Public Transportation

    If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Hobart to the town of New Norfolk. From New Norfolk, you will need to catch a taxi or arrange a ride to Mount Field National Park, as public transport options directly to the park are limited. The bus journey takes around 50 minutes, and a taxi ride from New Norfolk to the park will take approximately 30 minutes. Be sure to check local bus schedules in advance as they may vary.

    Once you arrive at Mount Field National Park, you will need to walk to Russell Falls. The falls are accessible via a well-marked walking track from the visitor center.
