Walking
From the center of Bad Gastein, head towards the main road (B167). Walk north along the Gasteiner Straße, following the signs towards the Gasteinergarten. After about 1 km, you will reach the fork at the Hotel Salzburger Hof. Take the left path towards the 'Kreuzkogel' trailhead. Follow the trail as it ascends, passing through the beautiful forested area. The hike is moderately challenging and takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace. Enjoy the scenic views along the way and look out for trail markers that will guide you to the summit.
Cable Car
Start in Bad Gastein town center and walk to the nearest cable car station, the 'Stubnerkogelbahn', located about 15 minutes on foot. Once at the cable car station, purchase a ticket for the cable car that goes up to Stubnerkogel. After reaching the Stubnerkogel peak, look for signs indicating the trail to Kreuzkogel. It’s a well-marked hiking path that takes about 30 minutes to walk from the Stubnerkogel peak to Kreuzkogel. This option provides a stunning panoramic view of the Alps.
