Walking
From the Linz Hauptbahnhof (main train station), head east on Bahnhofstraße. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach Landstraße, a major pedestrian shopping street. Turn left onto Landstraße and walk for about 500 meters. You will see the historical buildings and shops lining the street. Follow Landstraße until you reach the large square at the end, which is Hauptplatz (main square).
Public Transport (Tram)
From Linz Hauptbahnhof, take tram line 1 or 2 towards the city center. Get off at the stop 'Hauptplatz' after about 10 minutes. Upon exiting the tram, you will find yourself directly in Linz’s main square, surrounded by beautiful architecture and local cafes.
Walking
If you are near the Ars Electronica Center, exit the building and head west along the river promenade. Follow the path leading to the bridge (Nibelungenbrücke). Cross the bridge, and upon reaching the other side, turn left. Continue straight until you arrive at the Hauptplatz, which is a short walk away.
