Walking
If you are starting from the main square, Hauptplatz, walk towards the south end of the square. Continue straight to Landstraße, the main shopping street. Turn right onto Landstraße and walk until you reach the intersection with Schlossstraße. Turn left onto Schlossstraße. Follow this road up the hill. After about 10 minutes of walking, you will see a sign for Schlossberg on your right. Follow the path leading up to Schlossberg, which is a park area. Continue walking until you reach Schlossberg 1, where the Oktagonaler Brunnen is located.
Public Transport
From Linz central station (Linz Hauptbahnhof), take tram line 1 towards 'Linz, Froschberg' or tram line 2 towards 'Linz, Kremsegg'. Get off at the 'Landstraße' stop. From there, walk towards the main square, Hauptplatz. Continue as described in the walking directions: walk to Landstraße, turn right, then left onto Schlossstraße and up to Schlossberg 1.
Walking from the Ars Electronica Center
Starting from the Ars Electronica Center, head towards the Donau River and walk along the riverside promenade. Continue walking until you reach Nibelungen Bridge. Cross the bridge and then turn left towards the city center. Follow the signs leading to Hauptplatz. Once at Hauptplatz, follow the same walking directions as above to reach Schlossberg 1.
