The Belvedere Palace, a stunning Baroque complex in Vienna, comprises two palaces—Upper and Lower Belvedere—linked by formal gardens. Public Transport
From Vienna city center, take the D tram to the Schloss Belvedere stop, which is directly outside the Upper Belvedere's main entrance. Alternatively, take tram 71 to Unteres Belvedere for the Lower Belvedere. A single tram ticket costs €2.40. Consider a Vienna City Card for unlimited public transport.
Subway
Take the U1 subway line to Hauptbahnhof station. From there, it's approximately a 15-minute walk to the Belvedere. Alternatively, transfer to the D tram at Hauptbahnhof and ride to Schloss Belvedere. A single subway ticket is €2.40.
Walking
From Schwarzenbergplatz, walk south on Rennweg. You'll see a McDonald's on the right and a theater-like building on the left. Continue until you reach the Red Army monument, then turn left onto Rennweg. The Lower Belvedere entrance will be on your right. Continue through the gardens to reach the Upper Belvedere. This walk takes approximately 15-20 minutes.
Taxi/Ride-share
Taxis and ride-sharing services can drop you off directly at the Upper Belvedere (Prinz Eugen-Straße 27) or Lower Belvedere (Rennweg 6). A short taxi ride from the city center will typically cost between €10-€15. Be aware that traffic can be heavy during peak tourist season.
