    Getting There

    Car

    From Vienna, take the A21 and exit at Alland/Mayerling. Go to Alland then toward Baden/Helenental to Mayerling. Turn right in Mayerling towards Wiessenbach and Maria Raisenmarkt. Past Maria Raisenmarkt for 2 kilometers to a small turnoff towards Holzschlag (turn off is near the hotel/restaurant Schwarzenseerhof). Follow the small road to the parking lot across from the Gasthof Holzschlag. From the Holzschlag parking lot, follow the well-marked trails to the crag; it's about a 15-minute walk through the woods. Parking is available at the Holzschlag parking lot. Note that to drive on Austrian motorways like the A21, you need a vignette. A 10-day vignette costs €11.50 for cars.

    Public Transport

    Take a train from Vienna to Wiener Neustadt. From Wiener Neustadt, transfer to a bus heading towards Peilstein. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may vary throughout the day. Once you arrive at Peilstein, you can explore the area on foot. A single bus fare will typically cost between €3-5.

    Walking

    From the Holzschlag parking lot, there are clearly defined paths heading south. The crag is reached by following the southerly paths through the woods. Approach time: 15-20 mins depending on sector.
