Bannochie's passion for plants led her to collect species from around the world, creating a diverse and unique landscape. The gardens feature a variety of themed sections, from vibrant orchids and heliconias to towering palms and lush ferns. A stream meanders through the property, forming enchanting pools and waterfalls, adding to the tranquil atmosphere.Andromeda is not only a place of beauty but also a center for conservation and education. The gardens play a vital role in preserving rare and endangered plant species and promoting sustainable practices. Visitors can explore the Ethnobotanical Garden, which highlights the historical and contemporary uses of local plants by Barbadians.In addition to its botanical significance, Andromeda has a rich history. From 1954 to the mid-1980s, a workshop on the property was used by the US Navy as a secret Cold War submarine tracking station.
