From Oistins Fish Market, head east on Oistins Main Road. Continue straight for about 10 minutes until you reach a roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Church Hill. Follow Church Hill for about 5 minutes, and you will see Christ Church Parish Church on your right. Look for the distinctive architecture and the church grounds.

From Oistins Terminal, take bus routes 12A, 27, 32, or 54. Alight at the 'Foundation' bus stop, which is a 2-minute walk to the church. The bus fare is BBD 3.50.

Christ Church Parish Church, an Anglican church located on Church Hill in Oistins, Christ Church, Barbados, is more than just a place of worship; it's a living testament to the island's tumultuous history and enduring spirit. The story of Christ Church Parish Church is one of resilience. The original structure, a humble wooden building, was erected around 1629 near Dover Beach. However, its coastal location proved to be its undoing when a devastating flood in 1669 swept it away, scattering coffins and bones from the churchyard across the beach. Undeterred, the parish rebuilt, choosing a more elevated site on Church Hill, where the church stands today. Yet, even this new location couldn't escape the wrath of nature. The second church was destroyed by the Great Hurricane of 1780, a catastrophic event that claimed thousands of lives and leveled nearly every building on the island. A third church, constructed in 1786, met a similar fate in the hurricane of 1831. In 1835, the cornerstone for yet another church was laid, only for it to be ravaged by fire in 1935. The current Christ Church Parish Church, consecrated in 1935, is a testament to the enduring faith and determination of the Barbadian people. Interestingly, the current structure incorporates elements from its predecessor, including three walls and the west tower, creating a tangible link to the past. The church's architecture reflects a blend of styles, with its coral stone walls, intricate woodwork, and stained-glass windows creating a serene and inviting atmosphere.
