Once a grey parking lot, it has been transformed into a green haven with walking paths, sports fields, and play areas, making it a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. The park exposes a previously hidden piece of medieval Leuven, with the restored Jansenius and Justus Lipsius towers, which once flanked the water gate in the city walls, now proudly standing as historical landmarks. Janseniuspark provides a serene environment for relaxation and recreation, a testament to Leuven's commitment to preserving its heritage while embracing modern urban living.

Walking
From Leuven's Grote Markt, walk east along the Bondgenotenlaan. Turn right onto the Minderbroedersstraat. Continue straight until you see the entrance to Janseniuspark on your left. The walk is approximately 10-15 minutes. Alternatively, from the Oude Markt, walk along the Parijsstraat, turn left onto the Sint-Antoniusberg street, and then turn right onto the Minderbroedersstraat. Follow the street until you see the park entrance on your left.
Public Transport
From Leuven train station, take bus line 2 towards Heverlee. Get off at the 'Leuven Sint-Michielskerk' stop. From there, walk along the Naamsestraat, turn left onto the Sint-Antoniusberg street, and then turn right onto the Minderbroedersstraat. Follow the street until you see the park entrance on your left. The bus fare is approximately €3 for a single ticket purchased on the bus. Alternatively, several other bus lines stop near Janseniusstraat, including lines 40, 5A, and 5B. Check local bus schedules for the most up-to-date information.
Taxi/Ride-Share
From Leuven train station, a taxi or ride-share to Janseniuspark will take approximately 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic. The estimated cost is between €9-€11. Direct the driver to Minderbroedersstraat 3000 Leuven, near the Janseniustoren.
Driving
Driving directly to Janseniuspark is possible, but parking in the immediate vicinity is limited. Paid on-street parking is available in the area for approximately €2.5 per hour, with restrictions between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm, except on Sundays and public holidays. Consider parking at one of the larger parking garages in the city center, such as Parking Ladeuze or Parking De Bond, and then walking or taking a short bus ride to the park. Parking De Bond offers a free bus service to the city center.
