From Aalst, walk to the Aalst train station (Stationstraat 5). Take a train to Ghent St. Pieters station. Once you arrive at Ghent St. Pieters station, transfer to tram line 1 towards 'Ledeberg'. Get off at 'Sint-Michielsplein' stop. From there, you will be at Sint-Michielsplein, which is a public square in the heart of Ghent.

If you're near the center of Aalst, head towards the main square (Grote Markt). From there, walk to the Aalst train station (around 15 minutes). After taking the train to Ghent St. Pieters station, you will need to walk to the tram stop, which is nearby. Take tram line 1 to 'Sint-Michielsplein'. The walk from the tram stop to the square is very short and will lead you directly to the picturesque Sint-Michielsplein.

You can rent a bicycle in Aalst and cycle along the designated bike paths towards Ghent. Follow the signs towards Ghent, which will lead you through scenic countryside. Once you reach Ghent, navigate towards the city center and look for Sint-Michielsplein, which is well marked on most city maps.
