Travel Guide to Majuwa Zero

Getting There

• Car

  From Thimphu, take the East-West Highway (also known as the Phuentsholing Highway) towards Phuentsholing. Continue driving for approximately 75 kilometers until you reach the junction to Dorokha. Follow the signs towards Dorokha and drive for another 15 kilometers. As you approach Dorokha, look for local signage directing you to Majuwa Zero. You will need to navigate some narrow roads, so drive carefully. Once you reach the area marked W6WF+5M, Majuwa Zero is located nearby. Parking may be available along the roadside.

• Public Transportation

  From Thimphu, take a bus heading to Phuentsholing, which usually departs from the southern bus terminal. Buses run frequently, and the journey takes around 2 to 3 hours. Once you arrive in Phuentsholing, you'll need to find a local taxi or shared taxi service to get to Dorokha. Inform the driver you want to go to Majuwa Zero, and they will take you directly there. The taxi ride from Phuentsholing to Dorokha will cost approximately 1,500 to 2,000 BTN. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.

• Local Taxi

  If you are already in Dorokha or nearby, you can hire a local taxi to take you to Majuwa Zero. Taxis in the area are usually available at local stands. The fare should be around 300 to 500 BTN depending on your starting point in Dorokha. Make sure to confirm the price and the route before you start your trip. Local taxi drivers are familiar with the area and can provide guidance if needed.
