Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the town of Lhuntse. Head northeast on the Lhuntse-Dungkar Road, which is well-signposted. The drive will take you through beautiful landscapes and traditional villages. Continue on this road for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the junction near Dungkar. Take a left turn at the junction, and follow the road for another 15 minutes. Dungkar Nagtshang is located on your right side, look for the signboard indicating the historical landmark.
Public Transportation
To reach Dungkar Nagtshang via public transportation, start from the Lhuntse bus station. Board a local bus heading towards Dungkar. Buses run several times a day, and the fare is generally around 30-50 Nu (Bhutanese Ngultrum). The ride will take approximately 1 hour. Inform the bus driver or conductor that you wish to get off at the Dungkar Nagtshang stop. Once you arrive, it will be a short walk of about 5 minutes to the landmark itself.
Taxi
Hiring a taxi is another convenient option. You can arrange for a taxi from Lhuntse town to take you directly to Dungkar Nagtshang. The journey will take about 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on road conditions. Taxi fares can range from 500 to 800 Nu, so it’s advisable to negotiate the fare before starting your trip. The taxi will drop you off right at the entrance.
