Car
If you are traveling by car in Samdrup Jongkhar District, start from the center of Samdrup Jongkhar town. Head northeast on the main road (the road that connects to the border with India). Continue driving for about 1.5 kilometers and keep an eye out for signs directing you to Zangtho Pelri. The temple is located at coordinates 26.799817, 91.507509, so you can also enter these into your GPS. There is limited parking available near the temple.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, you can take a local bus or taxi from the Samdrup Jongkhar main bus station. Ask the driver or conductor to drop you off at Zangtho Pelri or near the main road leading to it, as they will be familiar with the location. The fare is generally affordable, ranging from 50 to 100 BTN depending on the distance. Once you get off, it’s a short walk (about 500 meters) to the temple.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Zangtho Pelri, you can walk there. From Samdrup Jongkhar town, locate the main road heading northeast. Walk along this road for approximately 1.5 kilometers. Follow the local signage or ask locals for directions if needed. The temple is situated in a serene area, making the walking experience pleasant.
