    Getting There

    Walking

    From the main town area of Thimphu, head towards the clock tower located in the center of the city. Once you reach the clock tower, take the road leading towards the east, following the signs for 'Paro'. Continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction. Here, take a left onto the road leading to Paro. After approximately 5 kilometers, you will reach the outskirts of Paro. Keep an eye out for the Rinpung Dzong as it is easily visible. Follow the signs and pathways towards the Dzong, which is located on your right side.

    Bus

    From Thimphu, locate the bus terminal which is near the main market area. Look for buses heading to Paro; these are usually marked clearly. The bus ride to Paro will take around 1 hour. Once you arrive in Paro, disembark at the main bus station. From there, you can either walk or take a local taxi to Rinpung Dzong. To walk, head south from the bus station for about 1 kilometer, and you will see the Dzong on your left.

    While in Thimphu, you can easily find taxis near the main market or ask your hotel to arrange one for you. Tell the driver you want to go to Rinpung Dzong in Paro. The taxi ride will take approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic. Enjoy the scenic views along the way. Once you arrive, the Dzong will be directly in front of you.
