Car
From Trongsa Town, head east on the Trongsa-Tashiyangtse highway (NH 2) for about 10 kilometers. Continue following the signs towards Tashiyangtse. You will pass a few small villages along the way. After approximately 10 kilometers, look for a dirt road branching off on your right. This road leads directly to Tshonam Tsho. Ensure your vehicle has good ground clearance as the road may be rough in parts. The journey should take around 20-30 minutes.
Public Transportation
Catch a local bus or shared taxi from Trongsa Town heading towards Tashiyangtse. The bus will typically wait until it is full before departing. Inform the driver or the conductor of your destination, Tshonam Tsho. After about 10 kilometers, request the driver to drop you off at the junction where the dirt road to Tshonam Tsho begins. You may need to walk along the dirt road for about 2 kilometers to reach the lake. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may vary.
