From Maun, a 45-minute light aircraft flight will take you to the nearby East Linyanti Airstrip. The camp is then a 45-minute drive from the airstrip. King's Pool Camp is an exclusive, high-end camp located within the remote 125,000-hectare Linyanti Wildlife Reserve in northern Botswana. Situated on the edge of the oxbow-shaped King's Pool lagoon, overlooking the Linyanti River, the camp provides a luxurious and immersive safari experience. The Linyanti Reserve, bordering Chobe National Park, is known for its diverse habitats, including open grasslands, riverine forests, mixed woodlands, and the dry Savuti Channel. King's Pool Camp is named after Swedish King Carl Gustav XVI, who honeymooned in the Linyanti area in the 1970s. The camp maintains a traditional and elegant style, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings. The décor draws inspiration from Botswana's basket-weaving craft, featuring patterns and restful colors. The camp offers nine luxurious tented rooms set under thatch, each complete with a day bed, plunge pool, and sala. The spacious tents feature four-poster beds, en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, and private decks with lagoon views. Guest areas include a sitting room, pub, dining area, and viewing deck with a built-in pool. An open-air boma provides a perfect setting for dining under the stars.
