The construction was financed by Jewish families and organized by Salomão Klabin.The synagogue's architecture, designed by Samuel Roder, is a blend of Byzantine, traditional, and oriental styles, making it a unique structure. The building's seven-sided design symbolizes the seven days of creation and the branches of the menorah. The synagogue has narrow arched windows and stained glass.Beth-El Synagogue serves as a place of worship and a center for Jewish culture and history. Since 2021, the building also houses the Jewish Museum of São Paulo, which is dedicated to preserving local Jewish history. The museum is the first museum of religion in the State of São Paulo.
