The Centro Histórico Mackenzie (Mackenzie Historical and Cultural Center) is located within the Mackenzie Presbyterian University's Higienópolis campus, in São Paulo. Housed in the Edifício Mackenzie (Mackenzie Building), also known as Building 1, its construction dates back to 1894-1896. This building initially housed the first private School of Engineering in Brazil, modeled after American educational standards.The building itself is a designated historical and cultural landmark, protected since 1990 by the state and municipal preservation agencies (Condephaat and Conpresp).
