    From the center of Praia, head towards the Avenida 5 de Julho. Follow this road until you reach the roundabout at the Praia City Hall. Take the second exit onto Rua 12 de Setembro. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenida Cidade de Lisboa. Turn left onto Avenida Cidade de Lisboa and follow it until you see the signs for Cidade Velha. Once you enter Cidade Velha, follow the signs leading you to the National Highway. Pelourinho is located along the highway at W97V+XXR. It’s about a 30-minute walk from the city center.

  • By Minibus (Aluguer)

    From the city center, head to the main minibus terminal located near the Praia Market. Look for a minibus heading to Cidade Velha (they often have signs displayed). The fare is usually very affordable. Once you get on, inform the driver that you want to go to Pelourinho. The journey takes approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. When you arrive in Cidade Velha, ask the driver to drop you off at the National Highway; Pelourinho is a short walk from there.

    You can easily find a taxi in the city center. Make sure to use a registered taxi. Tell the driver you want to go to Pelourinho in Cidade Velha.
