Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Big Sur River Inn, head southeast on CA-1 S (Pacific Coast Highway) for about 0.5 miles. Look for the sign for the Historic Lime Kilns on your left. There is a small trail that leads up to the kilns. Follow the trail for approximately 0.2 miles. The kilns will be on your right as you approach the area.

From the Big Sur Village, take the bike path on the east side of CA-1 S. Continue south for about 1 mile until you reach the intersection with Limekiln Creek Road. Turn left onto Limekiln Creek Road and follow it for about 0.5 miles. The Historic Lime Kilns will be on your left. Secure your bike in the designated area before exploring the site.

Hiking
If you're coming from Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, take the Pfeiffer Falls Trail. After visiting the falls, return to the main trail and head towards CA-1 S. Once you reach the highway, turn left and walk about 1.5 miles. Look for the Historic Lime Kilns sign. There is a short trail leading to the kilns from the highway.
