Getting There

Bus
From Castro Valley, head to the nearest bus stop located at Castro Valley BART Station. Take the BART train towards San Francisco/Daly City. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the Montgomery St. Station. Exit the station and follow signs for Market St. Walk west on Market St. for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Grant Ave. Turn right onto Grant Ave, and you will enter Chinatown. The vibrant entrance to Chinatown will be on your left.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Castro Valley. Head towards the East Bay Regional Park Trail and follow it north until you reach Lake Chabot. Continue heading north until you connect with the San Francisco Bay Trail. Follow the trail along the water, taking in the views. When you reach the ferry terminal at Oakland, you can take the ferry to San Francisco. Once you arrive, bike towards Chinatown by heading northwest on the Embarcadero, then turn left onto Clay St. and continue to Grant Ave, where you will find Chinatown.
