    To reach the San Francisco Zoo from Castro Valley, start by heading to the Castro Valley BART station located at 3301 Castro Valley Blvd, Castro Valley, CA 94546. Take the BART train towards San Francisco/Daly City. Get off at the Balboa Park station, which is approximately a 35-minute ride. Once at Balboa Park, transfer to the Muni bus. Take the 29-Sunset bus towards 19th Ave & Parnassus. Get off at the Sloat Blvd & Upper Great Hwy stop. The San Francisco Zoo will be just a short walk from there.

    If you find yourself in the Castro Valley area, head towards the nearest bus stop and catch the AC Transit bus number 92 heading towards the BART station. From there, follow the public transportation instructions above. Note: Direct walking to the San Francisco Zoo from Castro Valley is not feasible due to the distance, so public transport is recommended.
