Olenka Villarreal, the visionary founder of the Magical Bridge Foundation, was inspired by her daughter, Ava, who had developmental challenges, to create a space where Ava and children like her could play without limitations. Magical Bridge Playground is thoughtfully designed with distinct zones, each catering to different types of play and sensory experiences. These zones include: * **Swing and Sway Zone:** This area features bucket swings that accommodate all sizes and group disc swings, providing a sense of freedom and joy for all. * **Slide and Climb Mound:** Wheelchair-accessible slides with patented Sit and Slide Landings™ ensure a safe and accessible experience for everyone. Wider slides allow families to slide together, and the expansive mound allows helpers to assist sliders. * **Music Zone:** Recognizing that music stimulates more parts of the brain than any other human function, this zone offers a variety of musical instruments and interactive sound elements. * **Playhouse + Playstage:** This area encourages pretend play, allowing children to explore their senses, feelings, and imaginations. The playground has a few rules to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors. Food and drinks (other than water) are not allowed inside the playground to keep it clean and safe for all abilities. Bikes, skateboards, roller skates, and strollers are not permitted inside the playground, but wheelchairs are welcome. The playground is open from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week, and admission is free. Magical Bridge Playground has garnered widespread recognition as a model for inclusive play spaces.
