Discover more about Rosicrucian park

Rosicrucian Park, established in 1927 by Harvey Spencer Lewis, founder of the Rosicrucian Order, AMORC, spans an entire city block in San Jose's Rose Garden neighborhood. The park serves as the headquarters for the English Grand Lodge for the Americas of the Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis. It welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors each year to explore its unique blend of gardens, temples, and museums. The centerpiece is the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum, housing the largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts in Western North America. The museum's architecture is inspired by the Temple of Amon at Karnak, Egypt. Inside, visitors can explore themed galleries, including Burial Practices, Afterlife, and Mummies, and view artifacts from pre-dynastic times through Egypt's early Islamic era, as well as Assyrian and Babylonian objects. A composite replica of an ancient Egyptian rock-cut tomb provides an immersive experience. Beyond the museum, the park features a planetarium of Moorish design, the Alchemy Exhibit and Garden, a Research Library, the Grand Temple, and the Peace Garden. The Peace Garden, designed after those found in the Egyptian city of Akhetaton, provides a tranquil environment with fragrant lavender, palm trees, and a water feature. The Rosicrucian Labyrinth, based on the Chartres Labyrinth, offers a meditative walking experience and is fully accessible. Visitors can stroll through the grounds, admiring the Egyptian-style architecture, statues, and gardens. The park reflects the Rosicrucian values of reflection and meditation, offering a serene and harmonious ambiance.
