Rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Santa Monica. Start at the Santa Monica Pier and follow the bike path along the beach. Keep biking south toward Venice Beach, and then continue heading south for about 5 miles. You will eventually arrive at Manhattan Beach. The bike path will lead you directly to the Manhattan Beach Pier. Once you get to the pier, park your bike at one of the bike racks available.

From Santa Monica, walk to the nearest Big Blue Bus stop (for example, the stop at 4th St & Santa Monica Blvd). Take the Big Blue Bus Route 5 towards LAX City Bus Center. Ride for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the stop at Manhattan Beach Blvd & Highland Ave. From there, walk east on Manhattan Beach Blvd for about 10 minutes until you reach the Manhattan Beach Pier at 2 Manhattan Beach Blvd.
