Walking
If you're starting from Santa Monica Pier, head southeast toward Ocean Avenue. Once you reach Ocean Avenue, turn right and continue walking along the oceanfront. After about 1.5 miles, you will reach Venice Beach Recreation Center, located at 1800 Ocean Front Walk. Look for the large beach area and the recreation center on your left.

Public Transportation
From downtown Santa Monica, you can take the Big Blue Bus Line 1. Catch the bus at the Santa Monica Civic Center on 4th Street and Santa Monica Boulevard. Ride the bus heading toward Marina del Rey. Get off at the stop at Pacific Avenue and Ocean Front Walk. From there, walk west along Ocean Front Walk for about 0.3 miles until you reach the Venice Beach Recreation Center at 1800 Ocean Front Walk.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bike, you can rent one from various rental shops in Santa Monica. Start at the Santa Monica Bike Path near the beach and head south. Follow the bike path along the coast for approximately 1.5 miles. The path will lead you directly to the Venice Beach Recreation Center, where you can lock your bike and enjoy the beach.
