Walking
Start at the Santa Monica Pier. Walk east on Colorado Avenue until you reach Ocean Avenue. Turn left on Ocean Avenue and continue until you reach the intersection with Main Street. Turn right on Main Street and walk south until you reach Venice Boulevard. Turn left on Venice Boulevard and keep walking until you reach the intersection with Pacific Avenue. Turn right on Pacific Avenue, and you will arrive at the Venice Canals after a short walk.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the many bike rental shops in Santa Monica. Start at the Santa Monica Pier and ride along the beachfront bike path heading south towards Venice Beach. Continue along the bike path until you reach the Venice Boardwalk. Once you reach Venice Beach, head inland on Windward Avenue until you reach the intersection with Pacific Avenue. Turn left on Pacific Avenue, and you will find the entrance to the Venice Canals on your right.

Public Transit (Bus)
From Santa Monica, head to the Santa Monica Transit Center located at 4th Street and Colorado Avenue. Take the Big Blue Bus Route 1 (towards Marina del Rey) and get off at the Venice / Pacific stop. From there, walk east on Venice Boulevard and turn right on Pacific Avenue. The Venice Canals will be just a short walk away.
