Getting There

  • Public Transport

    Several Metro bus lines serve LACMA, making public transportation a convenient option. Metro Local 20 and Rapid 720 buses on Wilshire Blvd, and Metro Local 217 and 218 and Rapid 780 buses on Fairfax Ave stop within half a block of the museum. From Wilshire/Western Station on the Metro Purple Line, transfer to the westbound Local 20 or Rapid 720. From La Cienega/Jefferson Station on the Metro Expo Line, transfer to the northbound Local 217. A single Metro fare is $1.75.

  • Driving

    If driving, LACMA is located at 5905 Wilshire Blvd. From the Santa Monica Freeway (I-10), take Fairfax Ave north. From the Hollywood Freeway (US-101), take Highland Avenue south to Wilshire Blvd. Turn right on Wilshire and proceed west. Parking is available at the Pritzker Parking Garage on 6th Street, east of Fairfax Avenue. The parking fee is $23, but is reduced to $15 after 8 p.m. Metered street parking is available on 6th St and Wilshire Blvd, but be sure to check parking restriction signs.

  • Walking

    LACMA is located next to the La Brea Tar Pits. From the La Brea Tar Pits, walk east along Wilshire Boulevard for approximately 5 minutes to reach LACMA. There are crosswalks and pedestrian signals at the intersections of Curson Avenue and Spaulding Avenue. The entrance to LACMA will be on the right. No costs involved.
