Founded in 2013 by Nathalie and Guy Porré, the plantation is committed to ethical and sustainable farming practices, providing stable employment to over 100 local workers and supporting the local community.Visitors can take free guided tours in English, Khmer, or French, learning about the cultivation, harvesting, and sun-drying processes of Kampot pepper. The tours showcase the differences between black, red, white, and green pepper, each with its unique aroma and flavor. Guests can also sample other exotic spices grown on-site, such as turmeric, long pepper, and galangal.La Plantation is not only a tourist destination but also a community-driven project. The farm supports a local primary school, offers scholarships, and rescues and restores traditional Khmer wooden houses for use on-site. By visiting La Plantation, you're directly supporting local farmers and helping preserve Kampot's cultural and agricultural heritage.
