From the terminal, you can either take a local bus to Merritt Island or walk approximately 1.5 kilometers (about 18-20 minutes) to the Welland Recreational Canal, located at Merritt Island Building, 8 Merritt Island, Welland, ON L3B 3X4.

If you're comfortable cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Niagara Falls. Start your ride by heading south towards the Welland Canal Parkway Trail, which you can access from the Niagara Parkway. Follow the trail southeast along the canal. After approximately 15 kilometers, you'll reach Merritt Island Building at 8 Merritt Island, Welland, ON L3B 3X4. The ride should take around 45-60 minutes, depending on your pace.

For those who prefer walking, start your journey from the Niagara Falls downtown area. Walk towards the Niagara Parkway and follow the path leading south. This will take you along the scenic views of the Niagara River. Continue walking until you reach the Welland Canal area (approximately 20 kilometers away). This will take a considerable amount of time, around 4-5 hours, so ensure you have plenty of water and snacks for the journey.
